Bad!

Sooooo. long time no see!
Yeah, I'm aware it's been since April that I wrote about a paragraph long blog post, and I'M SORRY. Not that anyone's really reading this, but I feel the need to apologize to my fictional audience. I've been up to a lot since that little post in April, so now I'll tell you about it.

It's come to my mind that this blog is really more for me personally, but if someone is interested in reading it, I would really like that :)

Alright, in May, Metamorphoses, the play I'd been working showed on May 20, 21, and 22. It was probably my favorite play I've ever been a part of, one of the first times I've ever been genuinely proud of myself, and one of the moments that really made me love all aspects of theatre, and cement the idea that I'd really like to do something with performing in my life. The people in the cast are some of my best friends and people I know that I'll never forget, even if I don't see them for the rest of my life (even though, most of them I will when I return to school at the end of this month). I'm not sure if I talked about it here, but one of the really unique aspects of Metamorphoses is when purchasing the rights to perform it, they make you sign off saying that you will incorporate a pool as a part of the set. Yes, a pool filled with water (REAL water) that sits on stage with major scenes and plot points actually going on in the pool. Now, I don't mean the kind of pool you see in someone's backyard. This pool got no deeper than 1ft, but really made a huge impact on the overall play, particularly in the big fight scene, the reason we had to advertise splash seats.

After the completion of the play, I was thoroughly exhausted and it took everything I had, but I made it out of finals with really good grades. Math almost killed me, but somehow I ended the year with a B average, and my first A of the year in the last marking period. Needless to say, I was a little proud of myself :).

School was finally over, and any more school last year probably would have killed me. I finished on June Eigth, but I didn't actually do anything until around June Twenty-Seventh, when I did something I've been waiting 11 years to do. Almost every year since I was around four, I've attended this one camp in my state (I don't really want to put the name on here!). I started out doing Grandparents/Grandchildren Camp (which is why I started at such a young age), and ever since then it has been my dream to be a CIT, or a counselor-in-training. You have to complete grade nine in order to enter the program, and I successfully completed it on June Third!

When you leave the camp, they give you one to two weeks where you can go back and actually BE a CIT, and I got scheduled week seven (which starts this sunday, August Seventh). However, I went to go drop off my Gram about two weeks ago for her camp, Wild Women in the Woods (it's an older women's program) and I actually ended up getting invited to help another program the same week for three days! It was Primary 1, which is kids who have completed K-2nd grade. But, since I live about an hour away from camp, I stayed without bringing anything. People there were so nice to me, lending me their clothes, and some of the staff even bought me underwear and a toothbrush. I had a great experience, particularly because my friend Carole who I went to Grandparents camp with and dreamed of being a CIT with was already CITing the program. It was kind of like a childhood dream come true, and I'm so happy to have been a part of it! Still, I'm excited to go for a full week where I actually have packed and prepared this Sunday.

Wow, I've written a lot already!

I just got back on Monday from going to the National Junior Classical League Convention in Fargo, North Dakota. We drove there from school, and on our van we had Abby, Zoe, Lydia. Mike, Eric, Azeem, Jonathan, Manny, and I with the fabulous Ms. Goetz driving us. We had a really great time even though it took so long to get there and back. The convention was amazing, and it was nice to have to much freedom and no one really telling us what to do. I met so many awesome people and even though Lydia and I got into some issues, we worked them out and still had a great time. We met this one kid name Cullen and Abby, Zoe, and I all got henna tramp stamps of his initials, and he got ours! That was at the bazar, which Zoe renames the the bazzar, which eventually became the bastard. So many inside jokes came from the trip, including about 50,000 things from the allspice commercials (since FIVE states  did parodies for role call), in the raw, effing clock, and more :)

Now I'm back and ready to go to Abby and Juanita's beach party on Saturday before I go to camp, so excited!

Oh, and I added some fan-listing buttons to the right lower corner in case your interested in some things I like ;)

Love always,
K

WG, WG

I would really like to be reading Will Grayson, Will Grayson, John Green and David Levithan's new book.  Unfortunatley, that's not going to happen. We went to the library today, and I couldn't find any books that I wanted, which was very disheartening. I'm reading The Bell Jar right now, which is really good, I just haven't been feeling very inspired lately!
I am eating a leftover easter cupcake, and it is still quite delicious, though I have to run to my music lesson now!

la la la lovee

blog, blog, blog.
I DON'T WANNA BLOG.
hahaaaa. I had a really long rehearsal today! It went pretty awesome, seeing as I went in not knowing my character AT ALL and I came out with a halfway decent understanding of the scene and what I need to bring to it so that it's amazing!
I feel like if someone actually read this blog, then I would feel motivated to write.
IF FOR SOME REASON YOU'RE READING THIS, you commenting would make my day week month year LIFE!
Tomorrow I leave school early and might actually have time to tell /you/ something interesting.
I also need to find that friend who's party I'm going to a gift!

CRAP

All day I kept reminding myself that I needed to write a blog post today!
Now, of course, the moment I remember this would be when I only have three minutes left!
SO; bullets of the day!

  • Got a migrane
  • Ate good food
  • Got some money from the grandma ;]
  • Wished for a bunny
  • Did some laundry
  • Was sad that I have to go back to school tomorrow
  • Shared some cupcakes I made yesterday.
  • Drank some really good coffee out of my kick ass Ringo Starr mug
  • Began making a book of fashion and hair things I want!

failure.

Blahhh. I'm already failing at BEDA. I guess it's still the third in some time zones, so I'm just gonna keep going. I had a super awesome weekend so far! I found the PERFECT dress and shoes for the surprise party in Northampton on Friday, and I can't wait to go wear them together to the party!

Today my friend Abby and I ended up getting makeovers at the Benefit counter in Macy's, cause they were having an event. It was pretty fun, and we looked really nice after!

I can't believe Easter is already tomorrow! So crazy.
I'm tired.
will write a long post tomorrow?

BEDA

Hey, everyone who doesn't read my blog! I just wanted to let you know that I am going to be participating in BEDA (Blog Every Day in April) this year. Or, I'm going to try my very hardest to, anyway!

I can't make this post very long, cause I am about to go to Northampton, Mass with my mom to hang out and go dress shopping! If you're lucky, I'll update again when I get back, or you may have to wait until tomorrow!

love,
k

AND, never mind. We were about to go out the door when my mom got a call about a late credit card payment. So, now I have to wait a little while, and I'll do some writing!

I am still head-over-heels with Polyvore! I'm getting pretty good at making sets, I think. I also started a group there, and we're about to end our first contest!

I will try my hardest to update you later on my day of travels!

rain, rain, GO AWAY!

I hate the rain.
Normally it's just annoying and totally ruins my hair when I straighten it.
But all of the rain we've been getting recently has caused our basement to flood.
Our finished basement.
And we have carpet.
NOT FUN.
So for the majority of the day, I've been running the water vacuum every hour. My dad and I have been trading off shifts. I thought I was going to get to sleep now, but my dad just told me I have to do another one. Now, that would be alright, except for after I finish that, I have to stay up for another hour so I can wake my dad up. And I am so tired! I had to get up semi-early today, and tomorrow after spending the night in water land, I have to work a car wash! Not exactly the thing I want to be doing on Spring Break.
[/rant]

So other than that, things have been going pretty well! I went to see The Last Song with my friend Lauren tonight (actually it's 1:27, so yesterday,  I guess). I didn't expect to like it, but it turned out to be pretty cute! A little too much making out, though. Sorry, I just don't really wanna watch twenty thousand minutes filled with colorful camera angles of two people shoving their tongues down each others throats.

Spring Break! It's gone alright. My dad and I went on a little 'bonding' day, where we painted pottery at this local place and then had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. It was pretty fun, considering my dad and I don't generally get along very well. But, all of that nice-happy-my dad and I are on good terms-stuff went away when we came home and found the basement flooded with water. We're probably gonna lose our carpet too, which is really suckish, cause it was in no way cheap.

Blah. It's time for me to return to my new best friend the water vacuum. fun.

once more with /FEELING/

Well, hello! Life in Kylieland has ben very busy as of late, as rehearsal for the show I am in just started. We are doing Metamorphoses, an adaptation by Mary Zimmerman. I'd been very excited to do this show, and we're putting it all together in less than two months! I am totally scared, but psyched at the same time! I am playing the 1st laundress, Oread, and Pomona! My favorite of them all is Pomona, and I've seen my costume sketches and they're gorgeous!

I've continued in my Buffy-watching, and I've just finished the 6th season. Tomorrow my friend Lydia is bringing me her copy of the 7th season! So far, I have LOVED the musical episode, Once More With Feeling, and I am listening to the music as we speak!

Let's see, what else?  . . . I had a voice lesson a few hours ago, and things are going really good! I think that I've improved a lot since I started going! I just finished Sixteen Going on Seventeen from The Sound of Music and am moving on to Many A New Day from Oklahoma!.

Tomorrow I am going to see a show at the Yale Repertory Theatre and I am very excited!! It's a comedia  del arte show, which means the performers all wear these amazing masks! I was a part of one, A Doctor in Spite of Himself by Moliere, so it's gonna be great to see it from another perspective!

Love

fe fi fo fum!

Life hasn't been that interesting lately. I dunno why, but things have been pretty bland. I've basically gone to school, ate, and been watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. I just finished the 5th season of Buffy on Friday, and I'm about to finish season one of Angel. One of my friends got me way into it, and my english teacher has a thing for it too. It really is a great nerdy show!

Today I hung out with some friends who spent the night last night, and went to the mall with one of them and my mom! I didn't get much, just a green plaid button down from American Eagle and Aqua Eyes black eyeliner by Makeup for Ever at Sephora. It wasn't a really successful trip, but I ended it by getting . . . cupcakes! I got to take advantage of the four for seven-twenty five deal! So, I also tried the vanilla bean ones, and they were excellent! Still waiting for the new flavors to come in though . . .

Tomorrow my family is going out for my Gram's birthday to this indian restaurant, and I really hope it's one of the places where you get to sit on the ground! I've always wanted to do that!

Man, I really don't have much to talk about!

red velvet

I am a bad blogger! I used to want to post multiple times a day, and I would freak if I forgot a day! Maybe if I got some comments I would write more . . . (*hint* *hint*).

So, I am pretty happy right now. Why? I was at the mall today with some friends, and before we left, we stopped at the Starbucks in the mall. We all got frappucinos,  but I, knowing I was coming home to an empty house, decided to pick up something special . . .

A RED VELVET CUPCAKE!

Yeah, not as exciting as it could be, but I lovelovelove red velvet cupcakes. Plus they put it in this adorable little box made especially for cupcakes! There's a little circular hole in the bottom where it sits and looks so cute! It wasn't too expensive as far as red velvets go, it was 2.25. But, for only around 7 dollars you could get four! So, with this inspiration, I have developed a few starbucks happiness combo meal things! I hope that you enjoy them!

Fun Starbucks Food Pairings!
